Update:I’m still loving this speaker. One thing I found is that Slack doesn’t treat it like Teams does. If I’m playing music through another device, Teams will take over, but Slack on my computer does not. It seems to be treated just like another application at the same level as music. Even if I pause the music first, it may take a couple of seconds before this speaker handles the Slack call/huddle.Original Review:Initial impression is really good with this speakerphone. It was a little bigger than I thought it would be, but not a problem sitting on my desk. It came with a carry bag so I can easily take it with me when I choose to do so. There’s a lanyard but I didn’t attach it because I don’t anticipate carrying it like that.I bought the Teams model and the integration is useful. I didn’t have to install their software for it to work, Teams recognized it and let me know how to use it. I can use volume control on the speaker or my computer. The mute button on the speaker mirrors the icon in Teams, and there are lights to let you know when the mic is active or muted. When I’m playing music through my iPhone or iPad and I join a meeting, it pauses until the call ends, then resumes. Another nice feature is if somebody starts a Teams meeting, the Teams light on the speaker will flash and you just need to tap the button to join. the same happens if you have an incoming call.Yesterday one of my coworkers thought I was still using my headset, he didn’t realize I was using a speaker. Everybody on the call told me that I sounded great on the other end and the voices were clear on my end as well. The speaker sounds real nice playing music also. I don’t think it is quite a nice as my Bose Soundlink Mini, but I do like it. There is a down-firing speaker that uses the desk to produce more bass response. One kind of hidden feature is the multi-point pairing. I plug into USB for my computer, but also paired it to my iPhone and iPad. It turns out it will connect to all three at the same time. I assumed it would only connect to iPhone or iPad at one time.Setting up a new home office, and I switched to a Mac Mini - I tried using my webcam's onboard mic, and my desktop speakers, but I was getting echoing and the mic wasn't great anyway. So I decided to get a proper speakerphone. After reading several reviews, this bubbled up to the top - it was usually in the middle or at the top of review rankings, and the flexibility of USB/Bluetooth and the ability to use as a power bank were big plusses. The fact that it looks nice didn't hurt.Pros:- Sound quality is great - not too tinny, a tiny bit boomy when people with deep voices speak, but manageable with volume (maybe also with EQ, I haven't tried yet). Music and videos sound decent, but since this is a mono speaker I wouldn't make this your go to leisure speaker.- Mic quality is much better than my old laptop mic, and way better than the Logitech webcam mic.- Very well made. Sleek and stylish, and it has some substantial heft without being a brick.Cons:- My only complaint is how fiddly the USB cable is to wrap up, but with practice it gets easier. Since it sits on my desk most of the time, it's not worth docking a star.Other:- I haven't used this wirelessly more than a couple hours, so I can't comment on battery life, but various reviews comment very favorably on battery life.- Haven't had to recharge my phone with this yet, so same deal, can't comment on recharge capacity.- Comes with a decent fabric/neoprene carrying case, if that matters to you.- Works without requiring drivers on both Mac and Windows, works fine over both USB-C and Thunderbolt hubs, and pairs easily via Bluetooth with both iPhone and iPad- A note about Bluetooth: While BT on this unit provides for decent sound and mic quality, the mic is a little scratchy. And BT will always be lower quality than a direct USB connection - it's much more susceptible to variables like placement, interference, and overcrowded channels, especially in this age of always-on BT connections like game controllers, printers, etc. as I have in my office. Stick with USB if you can, but BT isn't a bad option if you need it.I hate wearing headphones all day long while working. This is a ear saver. Awesome quality, easy to pair, really nice sound. I like that it notifies me when I have a Teams meeting to attend. Everyone can hear me perfectly when I speak. The rocket icon gives you a few needed options to choose from.Really really like this product. There is another version that is a bigger speaker, but everything else the same. The minus one star is because the MUTE function will mysteriously turn off (mic on). So I can't trust the mute button. But everything else is very likable.I bought this for handset free WFH use. Mic sound quality is much better than the webcam, background noise cancellation is gray as well. Speaker sound quality is great for voice, Im not listening to music on this. However, I use Teams and Zoom a lot, and the mute button doesn’t sync with the software quite often. It’s a feature I’d love to use more, but it just doesn’t work right.
